Wales Air Ambulance chosen as Arriva Buses Wales Charity of the Year. A bus company has chosen the Wales Air Ambulance as its charity of the year for the second year running. Despite the lockdown restrictions, Arriva Buses Wales raised an amazing £1,000 for the charity during 2020. They held a variety of fundraising activities amongst staff during the summer and autumn months. Arriva Buses Wales has recently donated a further £1,000 to the Wales Air Ambulance. They have been supportive of the charity s fundraising campaigns and placed the charity s My20 birthday fundraiser posters on its buses. A spokesperson for the company said: Arriva Buses Wales is delighted to support Wales Air Ambulance as its charity of the year.

DOZENS of roads were closed in Flintshire due to flooding caused by unprecedented downpours. Storm Christoph continued to wreak havoc across the county as emergency teams and council workers worked flat out through Wednesday and Thursday to ensure safety. Cllr Carolyn Thomas said on social media: Emergency teams at the council continued to respond to the storm event overnight and have now handed back to the day teams to commence inspection of the damage caused to the network and continue to respond to any calls that are coming in. The weather conditions that we saw Wednesday were extreme, with the drop in temp in Hawarden being recorded as 11C between midday and 10pm, along with nearly 40mm of rain recorded by the Lixwm weather station.
