CUPA, Ashraya Hastha Trust feed 5,000
dogs, cattle and horses during lockdown
The state government and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) are yet to make a decision on feeding
stray dogs, after 26 days since the lockdown came into effect. However, some volunteers and organisations have made arrangements to feed 5,000
animals in the city during this time.
There are 3.10 lakh stray dogs and thousands of cattle in the city.
Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (
CUPA), in partnership with Ashraya Hastha Trust, is helping over 5,000 animals, including stray dogs, cattles and horses during this crisis. Many animals were left hungry after the initial lockdown in May 2021. The Ashraya Hastha Trust stepped forward to sponsor the daily food that would be provided to these animals during this time.
