Regents approve payment method for Ruidoso expansion

ALBUQUERQUE Three months ago, Eastern New Mexico University regents approved a purchase to further expand the footprint of its Ruidoso campus to include all of what used to be the Sierra Vista Mall.
In a short meeting Friday, regents approved a resolution dictating how the university system would pay for it. The 5-0 vote authorized a resolution letting the branch borrow up to $1.8 million.
“We don’t expect to borrow that much,” Vice President of Business Affairs Scott Smart said, “but we wanted some flexibility so we don’t have to go back to the board.”
Caldwell to stay on one more year

PORTALES After a 40-minute closed session, Eastern New Mexico University’s regents decided one more year with Patrice Caldwell in the chancellor’s spot was its best plan going forward.
