Health passports, sustainability, and diversity and inclusion emerged as the three key themes of the opening session at the Business Travel Show Europe Kick Off this week.
The Corporate Travel Megatrends session saw a diverse panel of speakers come together on the virtual stage to debate current focus points, with the concept of health passes, or ‘vaccine passports’, first on the agenda.
“There are some 18 organisations working on digital health certificates so it’s going to be a chaotic way forward,” said Bruce McIndoe, president of McIndoe Risk Advisory. “Vaccines and testing will be our path out of this [the pandemic], but vaccine passports will expedite it.

Business Travel Show Europe will now take place at London s ExCeL centre on Thursday 30 September and Friday 1 October 2021.
The two-day live event had already been pushed back from its traditional February slot to June, but given the persistence of Covid-19 and in light of current lockdown restrictions, the decision was taken by organisers, the BTN Group, to move the show to the autumn in order to facilitate face-to-face networking and education. We look forward to bringing the corporate travel community together in a safe space for all of us to meet in-person, but Business Travel Show Europe will need to look and run slightly differently this year to comply with current UK government rules and regulations, says Jen Bankard, director of content solutions and conferences, BTN Group.
