It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Stan Potts, loving father and grandfather, on February 4, 2021 at the age of 92. He passed away at home with his children by his side following a brief battle with cancer. Stan was born in Bobcaygeon to Roy and Augusta Potts where he grew up in the family home along with his younger brother Doug. At an early age, Stan started working at his grandfather’s logging company. As a young boy, Stan had the opportunity to work as a guide at a fishing lodge where he got to meet members of the Toronto Maple Leafs who would come to vacation. Stan would be extremely hospitable and arrange anything the guests needed during their stay.

Charles Edward Crabtree

Charles Edward Crabtree age 77 of Henagar died Sunday, January 24 at CHI Memorial.  Charles was a loving husband and father to his family and took great pride in his love and commitment to his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends while on excursions in his RV. Charles was an avid licensed private pilot and longtime member of Fort Payne Experimental Air-craft Association EAA-Chapter 890. Also, he was a longtime member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and flew his planes from his private hangar and airstrip located at his residence. In his earlier years, he loved to fly almost daily and took great joy in recreational flying for the experience and feel of as he would say “Just to look around.”

Paul Rutledge

MOUNT CARMEL - Paul Rutledge, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle passed away peacefully at his home on December 21, 2020 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born in Mt. Carmel TN and spent his entire life in the area. He was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church. He served in the US Army Reserves for a short time. He retired from the Kingsport Press after 43 years of service and has served on the Board of Directors of the Kingsport Press Credit Union for 33 years. He was very active as a master mason with Clay Lodge #386 where he served as Worshipful Master a couple of times once in 1978 and again in 2008. Upon his death he was serving as treasurer of Chapter #238 of Royal Arch Masons in Church Hill. He served as a Grand Officer in both the Grand Lodge of Tennessee and in the Royal Arch Masons. Mr. Rutledge was a 32-degree mason of the Scottish Rite of Knoxville and a member of the Jericho Shrine, Kingsport Council #117, and Kingsport
