TRUSSVILLE A building that has stood empty in Trussville for many years is getting a facelift and possibly new businesses.
The building, owned by Barber Companies, is known to many as the old bowling alley, Trussville Bowling Lanes. It sits between Main Street and Linden Street and is next door to the shopping center with Half Shell Oyster House.
“We’re real proud of Half Shell Oyster House and Great Harvest Bread Company and DeVita Dialysis has been just good tenants,” said Chuck Callens, the leasing agent for Barber Companies. “So, we’re adding about 8,000 square feet more to lease.”

TRUSSVILLE The Trussville City Council honored the Hewitt-Trussville High School Girls Basketball Team with a proclamation during its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 13, 2021.
The Lady Huskies finished their 2020-21 season with a school-best 29-5 record. Coaches and players from the team were invited to the council meeting Tuesday night to hear the reading of the proclamation. The team made it all the way to the state championship, senior guard Amiya Payne earned the Alabama Sports Writers Association 1
st Team All-State Honors, among others, and several other players including freshman guard Jordan Hunter and sophomore guard April Hooks were also named in the proclamation for their many accomplishments as athletes.

GILBERT, AZ â A developerâs plans to build an outdoor adventure park with a miniature golf course and a go-kart track in Gilbert received approval from the Townâs Planning Commission on Wednesday night, one of the final approvals needed for the project to move forward and begin construction.
SanTan Adventure Park is proposed to be a 4.5-acre adventure park with an 18-hole mini-golf course, go-karting, splash pad, and a concessions stand at Crossroads Park, by the AZ Ice complex, near Knox Road and SanTan Village Parkway.
