Coronavirus vaccination: 51 adverse events reported in Delhi
As many as 51 healthcare workers experienced minor adverse events in Delhi after receiving the coronavirus vaccine on Saturday. Two of these cases were reported from Charak Hospital, while another two were reported from the Northern Railway Central Hospital. Delhi s south and southwest districts reported 11 cases while east and west districts reported six cases each. Four adverse events were reported in North West Delhi, two in Central Delhi and one in North Delhi.
A total of 52 healthcare workers of the 4,319 who received the Covid jab on Saturday reported adverse events post vaccination. While 51 reported minor events, one person who got inoculated at Northern Railway Central Hospital reported severe effects and was referred to a hospital.

NEW DELHI: As the vaccination drive rolled out on Saturday, cities across the country saw healthcare workers getting inoculated, with many cities meeting a sizable percentage of the target. The drive saw a lot of enthusiasm, with vaccination centres welcoming the vaccine boxes with flowers and balloons at some places and people celebrating. There were reports of minor adverse events in some cities and health workers refusing the shot in some places.
In Delhi, more than 53% of total health workers enrolled for vaccination on the first day turned out to receive Covid shots at 81 centres. As many as 4,319 healthcare workers out of 8,117 were vaccinated.

(Bloomberg) Health-workers flashed victory signs after being given coronavirus vaccines, while top officials sought to dispel fears about the shots as India kicked off one of the largest inoculation drives in the world on Saturday, setting in motion a complex plan to stem still rising infections across the nation of more than 1.3 billion people.
At hospitals and vaccination centers in major Indian cities from Mumbai to New Delhi a total of 224,301 people received vaccines over the weekend, according to data released by the federal health ministry. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the program with a speech addressing more than 3,300 centers across India, where the first shots were given.
