Mr. Ronald Gordon Fratton, age 67 years, was called home to heaven on February 6, 2021 after a heroic battle with cancer.
Ronald, lovingly called “The Leprechaun” by his closest friends, was born on August 1, 1953 in Port Arthur, now Thunder Bay, Ontario. He worked at the Port Arthur Shipyards for 40 years as an International Boilermaker and was the Vice President of the United Steelworkers of America Local Union # 5055 until 2001, when he had to retire due to health issues.
Ronald loved hockey and was a devoted Detroit Red Wings fan. He liked playing pool and enjoyed having his closest friends David McAllister and Daniel “Kojak” Van Arkel come for visits at his home to either play poker or watch hockey and have a few laughs just reminiscing about the good old days. He liked all genres of music, antique cars, and loved collecting coins along with hockey memorabilia. He was a wizard of knowledge when it came to knowing the sport of hockey. Donald “Don” Hopkinson, age 83 years passed away peacefully on January 26, 2021.

Marc Kim Demers, age 61 years, passed away peacefully in the company of loving family at TBRHSC on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
Marc was born in Sudbury, Ontario on May 28, 1959. He grew up in Levack, Ontario just outside of Sudbury along with his 7 siblings. As a 19 year old he moved to Thunder Bay where he worked at Richardson International, retiring as a Millwright after 35 years of service.
Marc enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and spending time at camp on Onaping Lake. Marc never missed an opportunity to spend time with his sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. He was always available to help build, fix, play cards and give (and take) a small course .
Mrs. Gloria Dorothy Fadyk (nee Jones), 95, a previous resident of Pioneer Drive, passed away peacefully Saturday December 19, 2020 at Southbridge Pinewood Nursing Home.
Born, raised, and educated in Fort Frances, she was employed earlier by the O&M pulp and paper company and, after raising her family, became the local Sears store manager in Fort Frances for 14 years prior to retirement in 1985.
She was a lifetime member of Knox United Church in Fort Frances and after relocating to Thunder Bay in 2001 became a member of Harmony Knox United Church on Shuniah Street.
For many years she volunteered for the La Verendrye Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels in Fort Frances and later for Tamarack House while in Thunder Bay. She felt that it was important to provide company and comfort to individuals during a stressful time in their lives.
