A Mount Airy woman was among four individuals recently arrested and charged with drug trafficking-related expenses in two separate cases, according to Surry County Sheriff Steve C. Hiatt.
Summer Raine Johnson, 25, of 158 Smith Landing Road, Mount Airy, Maurice T. McCallum, 37, of 4420 Greenry Lane, Green Sea, South Carolina, were both arrested following a recent traffic stop, the sheriff said in a written statement.
The sheriff also said two other individuals, Melissa Ann Wilmoth, 39, of 157 Railroad Lane, Thurmond, and Christopher William Scott, 36, of 101 Riverside Drive, Wilkesboro, were arrested on March 24 and charged after a traffic stop.
In the first case, involving Johnson and McCallum, the sheriff said the narcotics divisions of his office and the Mount Airy Police Department were conducting surveillance in the White Plains area after receiving complaints about illegal drug distribution there.
