Kids in Crisis will hold round two of its Back to School Fairs from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24 at the First United Methodist Church, 601 N. Cedar, Abilene. Â
Clients must enter through the south doors of the church and go down the basement steps to Peatling Hall.
School supply vouchers will be distributed to eligible families with students attending schools in Abilene, Solomon and Chapman schools.Â
In order to receive your voucher, you must bring your 2021-2022 letter of eligibility with you.Â
If you feel you are eligible and have not received a letter or have misplaced yours, please contact your local Unified School District Office. They will run another copy of the letter for you.
By a unanimous vote of the Benton-Carroll-Salem board of education, Oak Harbor athletics have accepted the invitation to become a member of the Northern Buckeye Conference. Membership is now pending a vote of the NBC to ratify the admission of Oak Harbor.

Eastwood softball coach Joe Wyant was hoping that his team could finish in the upper division of the Northern Buckeye Conference. Mission accomplished. However, a tournament run has proven that Eastwood softball is getting back to where it once was, so look out for next year. This was a team that Wyant said had “attitude, desire and worked hard to get better,” and they proved that in their Division III district final at Rolf Park in Maumee Thursday.
