Pamela Renee Ragan Thomas left this world to go her eternal home on May 5, 2021. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Pam was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Pam is the daughter of Dallas and Betty Ragan, born on Nov. 27, 1970 in Bridgeport. Pam graduated from North Jackson High School, where she was part of the first ever graduating class in May 1989. After returning to school while raising her children, Pam graduated with a degree in secondary education from Athens State University in 2010. Pam spent eight years working at the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, Tennessee before finally realizing her lifelong dream and becoming a teacher at Stevenson Middle School in 2019. Pam cherished the opportunity to teach kids and loved interacting with them in her classroom.

Two Power Five transfers former Mississippi State running back Lee Witherspoon and ex-West Virginia linebacker Charlie Benton  are transferring to UAB, AL.com has learned. The Witherspoon news was first reported by 247Sports. Witherspoon, a Birmingham native, broke the Alabama state record with 53 rushing touchdowns as a senior at North Jackson High School in 2018. He ran for 136 yards at Mississippi State the last two years and started one game this season. Benton, who played at Opelika High School, was an opening game starter for West Virginia in 2018 before suffering a season-ending injury.

(WAFF) - Unfortunately, COVID-19 has left North Jackson High School without cafeteria workers. So, the administration team is stepping up to serve some meals. All four cafeteria workers at North Jackson High School have tested positive for COVID-19. They are currently in quarantine at home. Principal Josh Harding said this is the second time his cafeteria staff has been out since the pandemic started.
