Apr 22, 2021 Susan White Buck, 47, of Dunkirk, passed away suddenly on Monday (April 19, 2021) at home after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Dunkirk on Oct. 26, 1973, the daughter of Dianna (Lilly) White-Corter and the late David White and stepfather, Dave Corter. A lifelong resident of the area, Susan graduated from Fredonia High school with the class of 1991. She then obtained her computer technology associates degree from Jamestown Business College. She was previously employed by Ameriprise in Dunkirk, Johnson Mackowiak and Associates in Fredonia and most recently employed at Evergreen Health in Jamestown surrounded by her loved coworkers and friends.

Apr 17, 2021 Michael P. Vinciguerra, 79, went on eternal patrol March 24, 2021. Michael was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Dunkirk, N.Y., to the late Rocco and Mary Ann (Messina) Vinciguerra. Michael is loved and sadly missed by his surviving family, wife Jill (Aniszewski) whom he married on Jan. 6, 1984; three daughters: Stephanie (Ret, Capt, Robert) Roncska, Jennifer (Joe) Belovarac, and Julie (Alex Tadt) Vinciguerra; grandchildren Sophia and Zachary Roncska; and son, John Atzrott and family. A lifelong resident, Michael was a 1960 Dunkirk High School graduate. After graduating, Michael enlisted into the U.S. Navy. While in the U.S. Navy, Michael served as an engineman, Petty Officer 3rd Class (EN3SS) aboard the submarine, USS Trigger SS-564.

The National Walleye Tour has begun listing dates for their upcoming derbies in 2021 and Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas is looking to possibly one of the spots coming up. “I think we have talked to those folks, but we haven’t solidified anything as of yet, but the city is definitely looking to help with promoting these fishing derbies, we budgeted some funds in the budget this year,” Rosas said. “We are more than willing to work with them and we will probably reach out to them to let them know that the city would like to work with them to hopefully bring that here.”
