Troy Brooks, the father of Margarita “Maggie” Brooks, filed the federal wrongful-death lawsuit Thursday. It seeks damages in excess of $1 million.

An unconscious person found lying in the middle of an Arlington road Friday died from injuries likely sustained during a hit-and-run, Arlington police said.
At around 3:31 a.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of North Collins Street, where an unconscious person was found lying near the roadway.

Police said there was no roadway evidence of a collision, but the person s injuries led investigators to believe the person had been struck by a vehicle.

Arlington police are asking for the public’s help locating a motorist who they believe fatally hit a person before leaving the scene.
Around 3:31 a.m. Friday, Arlington police were called to the 2100 block of North Collins Street about a person lying unconscious near the road.
Police said they found no evidence of a crash but believe that a hit-and-run had occurred, based on the person’s injuries. The victim, who wasn’t identified Friday, was taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Arlington police are asking for the public’s help locating a missing man who has a cognitive impairment.
A Silver Alert has been issued for Andrew Cole, 70, who was reported missing by a caretaker Wednesday afternoon. Cole was seen walking away from his apartment in the 1100 block of East Lamar Boulevard, near North Collins Street, on Wednesday morning, police said.
Cole is described as a Black man who is 5-10 and about 130 pounds, mostly bald with some gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black “Dallas” baseball cap, black thermal long-sleeve shirt and gray sweatpants.

Three juveniles who are suspected of assaulting and robbing an off-duty Arlington police officer at a gas station Wednesday morning have been taken into custody, police say.
The officer, whose name was not released, had just finished his shift and was getting gas about 7:30 a.m. near East Division and North Collins streets when the robbers drove up next to him, police spokesman Tim Ciesco said.
