Galway Bay fm newsroom – A charity air ambulance was used 490 times nationally in its first year of full service, including in Galway
The Irish Community Rapid Response Ambulance is based in county Cork and says July was it’s busiest month with 59 call-outs.
It has served counties in Munster as well as Galway, Roscommon, Leitrim, Wexford, Kildare, Kilkenny and Offaly.
Kerry accounts for up to 25% of the Air Ambulance service call-outs.
The life-saving service went live in July 2019 and provides time critical emergency care and transport for people in the county and beyond.
The Irish Community Rapid Response (ICRR), a charity dedicated to pre-hospital care, is running the service in co-operation with the HSE National Ambulance Service.

Michael Flatley – who maintains a home at the impressive Castlehyde House, near Fermoy, North County Cork – has launched a campaign that will support those in homelessness this Christmas. He is urging everyone to put their best foot forward and has launched a special #FlatleysTapForTen challenge which aims to raise badly needed funds for Depaul Ireland.

Depaul is an all-island charity that helps people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. It is amongst many charities have battled to help the vulnerable in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and the worst economic downturn for over a century.
