The Joint Action Committee of Northern Youth Associations (JACOM) has called on northern governors to forget their political differences and unite to end banditry in the region.
According to the group, the political will shown by Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari and his Zamfara counterpart, Muhammed Bello Matawalle, despite being members of different political parties led to the release of over 300 Kankara students.
The convener of the associations, Comrade Murtala Abubakar, said with the political will from political office holders, insecurity would end in the North West region.
According to him, the governors’ effort showed that if the northern states governors would set aside their political differences, unite and work as a team, the security challenges in the region can be tackled with ease and with speed too.
