Elgin man charged with strangling, killing wife

ELGIN, Ill - A 35-year-old man has been charged after authorities say he strangled his wife at their home in Elgin Monday.
Victor H. Ayllon faces two counts of first-degree murder in the strangulation death of his 33-year-old wife.
At about 6:40 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the area of Lawrence Avenue and North Aldine Street for a report of a found child in the area, Elgin police said.
The officers learned that the child, who was unharmed, lived in the 300 block of Heine Avenue.
When officers responded to the above location, they found another child located in a residence, who was also unharmed.

Elgin man pleads guilty to sex abuse of girl Erik M. Valentine
An Elgin man pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl.
Erik M. Valentine, 35, of the 500 block of North Aldine Street, agreed to a sentence of 24 months of sex-offender registration.
Charges of possession of child pornography were dropped.
Kane County Assistant State s Attorney Matt Rodgers told Judge David Kliment that Valentine admitted to Elgin police that he had met the girl online in January 2020. They met in person in the summer.
Valentine is to have no contact with the victim, and no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18. He is to have no access to pornographic materials, and court services is to monitor his internet use.
