Pedestrian killed by vehicle on Northeast 82nd Avenue

Updated: 12:22 AM PDT April 11, 2021 A man died after being struck by a car on Northeast 82nd Avenue Saturday night. Portland police officers were dispatched at 9:10 p.m. to a report of a crash in the 4900 block of Northeast 82nd Avenue.  They found an adult male, believed to be a pedestrian, injured in the roadway.  The patient was taken to a hospital where he died.  The involved driver remained on the scene and is speaking to officers, police said.  Northeast 82nd Avenue was closed in both directions between Northeast Killingsworth Street and Northeast Wygant Street for the investigation.

Portland Police Bureau officers arrested a man who allegedly stole items from two storage units in Northwest Portland and then fled by vehicle before crashing his car and ditching a gun in the snow. Travis John Hendon, 35, faces two counts each of first-degree burglary and being a felon in possession of a gun, plus one count of first- and second-degree theft, plus hit and run. According to a probable cause affidavit, the thefts occurred at Central Self Shortage, 1323 N.W. 16th Ave., where Hendon previously had rented a unit but was evicted.

December 15 2020 Portland Police Bureau officers released the name of a man killed in an armed robbery at a Kenton marijuana dispensary; shots fired in a separate incident. Portland Police Bureau officials have identified a man they say was killed during an armed robbery of a marijuana dispensary. Michael Arthur, 44, was shot dead during the robbery of a Kenton neighborhood pot shop in the 3700 block of North Lombard Street on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The only dispensary located on the block is called Cured Green. No arrests or suspect info has been announced. Police say Arthur died of a gunshot wound. Homicide detectives continue to investigate, but police have confirmed the death is the 50th homicide of the year within city limits, and the 37th involving a gun.
