When Cochrane RCMP arrived at the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Range Road 32, between Township Road 251A and 250, shortly after midnight last Thursday, two teenage girls were found dead. The other two occupants of the car, also teenage girls, were taken to Foothills Medical Centre in life-threatening condition, according to RCMP.

The two who died at the scene were Daniela Nicoletti and Tyler Anne, while Daniela’s sister, Giulia, and their friend Kaela Leier were taken to hospital in critical condition.

Students gathered at Springbank Community High School on Friday afternoon to share their grief for two classmates killed in a car crash early Thursday morning.
CALGARY A memorial continues to grow along Range Road 32, at the scene of a deadly, Thursday morning car crash that claimed the lives of two teenage girls and sent two others to hospital. Aiden Kalin, a Grade 11 student at Springbank Community High School, stopped by to mourn the loss of his friends on Friday. “I haven’t really let it sink in yet. It’s so much. It’s more than one death,” said the distraught teen. “I was super close to the Nicolettis and not so much to her friends, but we still see each other in the hallway and say hi and give hugs.”

A growing memorial was seen at the scene of the accident on Range Road 32 Friday morning. Almost two dozen bouquets of flowers are placed on the side of the road, along with several stuffed animals and a note that reads “In loving memory.”
Two men were working on repairing a fence nearby but declined to comment. Two police officers were at the scene Friday morning.
Chestermere-Strathmore MLA Leela Aheer posted a message to her official Facebook page that was signed by Darrell Lonsberry, principal of Spring Bank Community High School. He offered his condolences and confirmed all four girls attended his school.
