Busy times

Remember a recent column in which I stated that we should embrace winter, enjoy it while it is here, etc. etc. Well, I am now ready to embrace the spring. I am ready to enjoy some warmer weather.
Not only is there the weather to enjoy but so much is happening in the outdoors right now that it is very difficult to contain one’s excitement. When everything is going on at once it just makes it downright difficult to plan a day.
I am a fanatic about snow geese and (if you have not noticed), they are coming into our area in masses. It appears to be one of the better flights that we have seen in the last few years. I love the thrill of my morning chases as I try to find flocks to photograph. Of course, I could just head down to Emiquon where there is a reported 500,000 or so. It is quite a spectacle to see indeed, and I suggest you make a drive down there to see them, but I prefer to stay close to home and find geese that I can get really get c
