Mammoth Spring Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 7.
A Mammoth Spring citizen addressed council about concerns he had about water drainage near his home and any possible responsibility of the city regarding the issue. He stated there has been a problem with the drainage washing out the road.
A discussion was held as to whether it is a city street/easement. The city was unable to find a record of this. The city attorney is to inquire about the issue.
Council moved on to approve the May minutes and reports before approving to move the July meeting to Tuesday, July 6.

May is “Chip Your Pet” Month.
Residents of unincorporated Harris County can take your cat or dog to get a free vaccine and microchip May 12 if you’re among the first 100 to show up beginning at 9 in the morning at Spring Fire Department’s Station 74 on 23803 Aldine Westfield in Spring.
The event is hosted by Harris County Pets and the Spring Fire Department.
Vaccinations, including rabies, are available on a first come, first served basis.
A photo ID is required of humans to show proof of residence in unincorporated Harris County. There is no limit on the number of animals you can bring, but they must be on a leash or confined in a crate or carrier to receive services.

Firefighters battle fire in Montgomery County

SPRING, Texas – Firefighters are battling a fire at a large building Monday in Montgomery County.
The fire was reported at 12:37 p.m. at 2119 Old Ox Road after reports of a fire explosion.
The Spring Fire Department is at the scene. Firefighters said four buildings apart of a compound are on fire. Officials said two of those buildings are residential and the other two appear to be commercial. Officials said people were inside the building but all escaped.
Officials said one person received non-life-threatening burns when a flash fire occurred in a building to a two-story home.
