SPRING, Texas – Firefighters in Spring received an interesting call involving two Egyptian Geese whose two babies fell in a drain.
In a tweet sent by the Spring Fire Department, firefighters said they were called to attempt a rescue of two baby geese who fell in a drain while following their parents at the Lakes of Cypress Forest Tuesday evening.
Photos on Twitter showed firefighters attempting to rescue both baby geese. One of the goslings did not survive.
The fire department said Egyptian Geese usually return to the area every year to have their babies.

A fire in Montgomery County destroyed a mobile home and killed five dogs, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.
Dispatchers got calls around 9:10 a.m. Saturday for a fire on Bert Brown Road in Conroe. The blaze was put out when the responding fire crews from Caney Creek, Conroe and Needham fire departments arrived, but five dogs died in the flames. The fire marshal believes the fire started in a bedroom when some family members were still asleep, per the Montgomery County Police Reporter.
