In brief: Concerts, camps, college and new flights Statesman Journal Upcoming shows with the Willamette Master Chorus  Travel (virtually) to Oregon s beloved Mount Angel Abbey with the Willamette Master Chorus in an upcoming spring concert this May, tilted Sacred Music at the Abbey. The chorus will not be able to participate as a large group due to the pandemic but has captured some of the Abbey s acoustics by pre-recording accompaniment with different organs, according to a recent press release. The chorus will premiere a newly arranged spiritual entitled, The Morning Trumpet. The women of the chorus will perform Laetatus Sum,  described as a haunting composition based on Psalm 122.

Oregon’s graduating high schoolers told: There’s still time to apply for college, aid PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) There is still time for the high school graduating Class of 2021 to apply for college and for financial aid to help pay for it. All of Oregon’s community colleges and many four-year colleges and universities are still accepting applications for the fall term. This is good news for low-income students across the state, many of whom have not yet submitted their applications. Safe Harbor: Spring Into Action Wicked Local With spring just upon us, Cohasset’s Youth Ambassadors are launching our ‘Spring Into Action’ campaign to spread community cheer and information about Drug Take Back Day! Through this campaign, community members can send a plant with a personalized message and information regarding Drug Take Back Day to loved ones, friends, neighbors, co-workers, or anyone dear to them. For $10 you can purchase a potted flower plant from now until April 7th to be contactlessly delivered by our team on April 14th and 15th. Each bulb-flower plant is approximately 4-5 inches in size (variety not guaranteed as we will select the most beautiful plants ready at the time of delivery). Proceeds will go directly towards supporting our program and the work we do towards mental health awareness and underage substance misuse prevention in the community. Join in to brighten someone’s day and help raise awareness for Drug Take Back Day!

Sunny 105 7  Spring Into Action Blood Drive- Baldwin EMC Summerdale

Spring into action and deliver hope to our community during Baldwin EMC’s blood drive on Thursday, March 25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will have their bloodmobiles stationed outside of Baldwin EMC’s headquarters, located at 19600 State Highway 59 in Summerdale. The blood donations LifeSouth receives will benefit local medical centers, including Thomas Hospital, North Baldwin Infirmary, USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital and Mobile Infirmary, among many others in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Each pint of blood has the potential to save as many as three lives, including accident victims, those fighting chronic illnesses and patients recovering from surgery.
