Oman s share index ends marginally lower By: United Securities Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,840.14 points, down 0.05 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.72 per cent at 550.50 points. Madina Takaful, up 5.43 per cent, was the top gainer while Voltamp Energy, down 6.45 per cent, was the top loser. The shares of Madina Takaful were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded as well as terms of turnover. A total number of 1,131 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR6 million, with more than 25 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded stocks, 16 advanced, 12 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR327,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR203,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR124,000 worth of shares.
