In the post, they said he was reported missing after getting into a disagreement with his parents on Wednesday. Police posted an update on Friday saying the teen had been found. (Jenna Fisher/Patch file) LOWELL, MA A man s body was found in the Northern Canal Wednesday, prompting the Middlesex District Attorney s Office and Lowell Police to launch an investigation into how he got there. Around 1 p.m. a passerby saw the body in the Northern Canal in the area of 145 Pawtucket St and called police. Police and fire worked together to help remove the body. The body appears to have been in the water for an extended period of time, according to the Middlesex District Attorney s office.

Records show criminal past of ex-Lowell police officer Jason Diaz

WOOD-TV 8 LOWELL  Body camera footage of a Lowell officer shooting at a car as it tried to get away has been released. The officer, Jason Diaz, is heading to trial for opening fire and injuring two people inside the car, including a teen. He has since resigned from the Lowell Police Department. WOOD-TV 8 obtained the video through an open records request. The entire incident from last August lasted less than 15 minutes. A copy of the investigation report says Diaz observed a Chevrolet Impala missing a license plate “fail to dim its high beam headlights.” The report says Diaz attempted to pull the car over, reaching speeds of over 100 mph during the pursuit.
