Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Maine has come a long way. More than half of Mainers over age 16 have received at least one dose of the vaccine, leading the nation and bringing us one step closer to the end of this pandemic.

Brunswick-area hospital celebrates volunteers, recognizes those at vaccine clinic

During National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, Mid Coast–Parkview Health recognizes more than 500 volunteers who support the healthcare system throughout the year, as well as the additional 1,200 community members who assist with the operations at Mid Coast Hospital’s COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic this year.
While Mid Coast Hospital temporarily paused volunteering opportunities at its facilities when the pandemic started, hospital administrators are working on plans to bring volunteers back to select areas.

As of Wednesday, just under 17% of Sagadahoc County residents were fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic, a higher percentage than any other county in the state.
