Woman charged in fatal Smithville shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. â A 47-year-old woman has been charged in connection to a fatal shooting in Smithville.
Lori A. Ackerman faces second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges related to the death of Shannon Tate.
Police had responded around 10:10 p.m. on Dec. 11 to the 100 block of Tipperary Street on a reported shooting where a man, now identified as Tate, was located. He was transported to an area hospital and died Friday from his injuries, according to Smithville police.
Ackerman currently is being held on a $1 million bond.
