Dickinson County Lawsuit Over Service Fees Gets Court Date By charguth February 22, 2021 2:12 pm Saga Communications Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)– A lawsuit over service charges in Dickinson County has been given a court date. Jean Guy filed the suit in November citing the legality of the both the auditor and treasurer’s office being able to charge a five dollar service to deed a piece of land. Assistant County Attorney Lonnie Saunders tells KICD News these types of transfer fees are normal procedure at the Courthouse and happen more often in Dickinson County than many parts of the state. Saunders told us back in December that he expected this case to reach the court system to give a final judgment, a trial that has now been set for late May.
