But in the year of COVID-19, the church just didnât feel comfortable putting it on.
Luckily, a group of students in Laona saw the need in the community and took charge.
Laona High School students Kaylyn LaRock, Malerie Krawze, Grace Krawze and Elizabeth Krawze all grew up with the âgiving treeâ tradition and wanted to keep it going.
âThey werenât able to do it this year mostly because of the sickness that is going around, so we decided that we should take over,â LaRock said.
The girls used social media to their advantage and it turned out well.
