Dozens of teens vaccinated at Lodi High School clinic

LODI, Wis. The Lodi School District partnered with Hometown Pharmacy to offer COVID-19 vaccines at the high school Thursday.
About 40 students got their shot. Officials say that might sound like a low number, but other students who are 16 and up may already have been vaccinated.
They also say having the clinic on-site at the school removes obstacles like transportation and parent schedule availability, which may have gotten in the way of students getting their shot earlier.
Lodi School District administrator Vince Breunig says it’s also a good way to close what has been a challenging year of dealing with the pandemic and different learning models while trying to navigate the school year.

THE PRINCIPAL SAYS THE RESPONSE FOR GETTING BACK TO THE CLASSROOM WAS HUGE. LETICIA ORDAZ JOINS US IN LODI WITH HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE RETURNING TO CAMPUS. GOOD. STUDENTS ARE OFFICIALLY IN THE CLASSROOM HERE AT LODI HIGH SCHOOL. 75% OF THE STUDENT BODY DECIDED TO COME BACK. EXCITEMENT WAS IN THE AIR ALL MORNING LONG. TEACHERS START ARRIVING AT 5:00 THIS MORNING. WE SAW STUDENTS TRICKLING IN SINCE 6:00 IN THE MORNING. THEIR 2000 STUDENTS IN THE LODI SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE PRINCIPAL ALLOWED US TO TAKE A TOUR LAST WEEK TO SEE SAFETY MEASURES THEY HAVE IN PLACE AND WE SAW DESKS FARTHER APART AND THEY ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO USE A DESK
Lynn Edmondson
EAST LIVERPOOL Lynn Edmondson, 68, of East Liverpool, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Calcutta Health Care. She was born on June 11, 1952, in Lodi, Calif., the daughter of the late Leonard and Mildred (Thompson) Preszler.
Lynn graduated from Lodi High School in 1970. After graduating, Lynn attended college at University of California, Long Beach where she became a Physical Therapist. She moved to Ohio after taking a position with East Liverpool City Hospital to form and oversee their physical therapy department. Lynn also had a position with Kent State University in East Liverpool where she helped to pilot the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. Lynn then went on to practice on her own at Edmondson Physical Therapy, which was originally located in Calcutta and then moved to downtown East Liverpool.
A growing concern among school districts is the mental health of all of their collective students during the COVID-19 pandemic as a lot of kids have had to be in online learning since March.
The Lodi schools are currently in an enhanced online model, with a plan to switch to blended learnimg on Jan. 19. All students have been in an online model since March.
At the Lodi School Board meeting on Dec. 14, Director of Student Services, Tiffany Loken, gave a presentation on behalf of the Lodi Community Action Team (LCAT) in regards to the mental health of students during the pandemic.
