Friday, 30 April 2021 Energy solutions provider CPower Energy Management (CPower) has expanded its partnership arrangements with Amply Power to enable flexibility in integration of electric vehicle (EV) chargers as a distributed energy resource (DER). Estimates show that commercial fleets in the US are set to grow to include eight million EVs by 2030. This will in turn increase power consumption to 230 terawatt-hours-per-year or approximately 6 percent of current US power generation, creating a market opportunity of approximately $15 billion for EV fleet charging. CPower and Amply will help to keep the grid balanced during peak hours. Amply will utilise its Charging-as-a-Service model to it simpler for fleets to transition to EVs by assuming end-to-end responsibility for all charging aspects of the EV fleet.
