Food stall operated by Leitrim couple and trading in Boyle issued with closure order Reporter:   ); The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) today reported that a Closure Order was served under the FSAI Act, 1998 on the Twisted Dough Wicklow (Service Sector), Food stall trading at The Crescent Boyle,  Roscommon during the the month of February for breaches of food safety legislation. The Enforcement Orders were issued by environmental health officers in the Health Service Executive (HSE) and officers of the FSAI. The order was issued on the premises occupied by Mr Karol Kowalczyk and Ms Magdalena Michalewicz at Leitrim Village, Co. Leitrim and name trading as Twisted Dough Wicklow (Stall) and which was trading at The Crescent, Boyle, Co. Roscommon on Thursday, 11th of February 2021.

Major funding for Sheemore and Rossinver walk and cycle trails Over €329,000 announced   ); Leitrim County Council has today secured funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development under round 2 of the Outdoor Recreational Infrastructure Scheme. Two applications to develop amenities at Rossinver and Leitrim Village were successful in securing funding when the scheme was announced by Minister Heather Humphries earlier today. The Outdoor Recreational Infrastructure Scheme provides funding for the development, promotion and maintenance of outdoor amenities such as trails, walkways, cycleways, and blueways. In announcing the funding today Minister Heather Humphreys said: “The value we place on our outdoor amenities, and the contribution which they make to our physical and mental wellbeing, has never been more appreciated than during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Work underway to ensure Leitrim homes and businesses are connected to high speed broadband Reporter:   ); Work is underway to ensure Leitrim homes and businesses will be connected under the Government’s plan for high speed broadband, Fine Gael TD, Frank Feighan, has said. Minister for State at the Department of Health and local Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan said: “Homes and businesses in Leitrim will be connected to high speed broadband under the Government’s National Broadband Plan, for which survey work is underway despite the challenges of the pandemic. “The Broadband Connection Points (BCPs) initiative will see publicly accessible sites in rural and isolated parts of County Leitrim provided with a temporary high-speed broadband connection by National Broadband Ireland (NBI), the company contracted to deliver the NBP. Many points have been connected already.
