People living in Somerset have woken to no power in their homes after a fault in the underground network sparked a power cut overnight.
The areas water supplier Affinity Water has confirmed a loss of supply in several streets today. Repair teams are on site and as of 11am had dug down to the pipe to investigate the issue. A 50-year-old man has been found guilty of causing the death of a pensioner by careless driving in Staffordshire. Isaac Wright died after being struck by a Citroen Picasso as he crossed the road on Watling Street, in Tamworth, at around 10.45pm on December 21 2018.
