As California faces a decrease in enrollment in transitional kindergarten (TK) and kindergarten, a local school district is looking for solutions.
Alisal Union School District (AUSD), Salinas s largest elementary school district, launched an advertising campaign on radio and on social media to increase enrollment.
According to AUSD, the radio campaign is planned for two weeks, but the enrollment campaign will last through the summer and into the fall. The campaign will run in two radio networks, iHeart and its stations KDON and La Preciosa, and Lazer Broadcasting which includes Radio Lazer, La Mejor, and La Mexicana.
This was done in an effort to boost enrollment, particularly in TK and kindergarten. TK is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program.
