City explores road improvements in support of commercial development The Leavenworth Times When they met this week, Leavenworth city commissioners reached a consensus to explore making improvements to a section of Lakeview Drive in support of a planned commercial development on Eisenhower Road. City Manager Paul Kramer told commissioners Tuesday that the commercial development is planned for a 12-acre property at Eisenhower Road and Lakeview Drive. The project may bring a Culver’s restaurant to Leavenworth as well as other commercial development. “This project is still pending rezoning,” he said. He said a rezoning ordinance will come before commissioners May 25 for a first reading.

Fatal pedestrian accident closes highway in Clayton County, police say By FOX 5 Atlanta Digital Team Published  CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - A fatal pedestrian accident has closed a highway in Clayton County, police said.  The Clayton County Police Department is investigating an accident on Highway 85 near the intersection of Lakeview Drive, south of Riverdale. Police said Highway 85 was shut down near the intersection.  Police asked drivers to avoid the area.  Police said the incident was under investigation at about 10:30 p.m. Monday night.
