Man arrested in attack
JONESBORO â A man faces decades in prison after he was arrested on charges of attacking a woman and fleeing from police.
The victim, 53, told police Friday that
Robert Mapson, 50, of Jonesboro, visited her home in the 1200 block of North Patrick Street, records show. When the woman kicked him out of the house, which heâs criminally banned from, he forced himself back in and beat her.
The woman was treated at St. Bernards Medical Center for a âlarge knot forming on her head.â When officers responded, Mapson was fleeing the scene on foot.
After a foot chase with police, Mapson was arrested and two Ecstasy pills were found in his pocket, the probable cause affidavit read.
