She learned an inquest into Steven Rigby’s death is tentatively scheduled in Saskatoon from June 21 to 25. Her family has hired lawyer Brian Pfefferle.

Rigby died on Dec. 22, 2018 on the outskirts of Saskatoon after shots were fired during an encounter with police. His death followed attempts he and his family made to get him mental health care, but they faced barriers: he was moved from counsellor to counsellor, put on a waiting list for an in-patient mental health bed, and had very brief stays in care after suicide attempts.
