Thotanyana told the
Lesotho Times this week that his team’s immediate task is to restructure and reorganise the Premier League Management Committee (PLMC) and help it improve football.
“The PLMC looks like it has reached its ceiling in terms of fostering improvement of football and requires a little shack-up for us to move forward,” Thotanyana said.
“We must also foster relations between all the 16 premier league teams.
“As the forum, we are the watch dogs and must play an oversight to see that our policies are put to action. In the past, since we didn’t have a secretariat in the PLMC, the forum wasn’t fully utilised and that must change.

DEMOCRATIC Congress (DC) leader, Mathibeli Mokhothu, is leaving no stone unturned in his avowed quest to secure an outright victory in next year’s general elections to give his party the mandate to govern alone.
The deputy prime minister has so far embarked on several campaign strategies including “disguised” birthday celebrations and food donations to various constituencies to avoid falling foul of strict Covid-19 regulations which bar political gatherings.
Over the weekend, he made the short trip across the border into Bloemfontein to meet the family of the late feared famo singer, Rethabile Mokete. Popularly known as Mosotho Chakela, the singer-cum Terene gang leader, died of Covid-19 related complications in January this year.

BUSINESS NEWS - A Lesotho-based medicinal cannabis cultivator and manufacturer recently became the first African country able to legally export medical cannabis to the European Union (EU).
MG Health got the nod that their manufacturing processes are now officially aligned with the EU’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
Fewer than 20 companies worldwide have been able to achieve this, which is a “massive achievement” for Lesotho’s economy, MG Health business development manager Luke van der Next said.
“Having a GMP means we can access global markets. It means MG Health can access and tap into the global supply chain, a significant first for Africa.”
Rolling back malnutrition
LERIBE-‘Mamatšeliso Motseki’s 15-month-old daughter looked frail. Worried that the child could succumb to malnutrition, she asked for advice and was told of what was supposed to be a simple solution: feed the baby with nutritious food.
“It was not easy to do as recommended as I was struggling to make ends meet,” she says.
The only thing readily available was spinach that she had planted in her garden.
The child’s condition worsened and had to be admitted at a hospital for three weeks.
“She really did not look good, it was sad to see her like that,” Motseki said of her child who weighed less than 8kg.
