FORMER Basotho National Party (BNP) youth league president, ‘Machere Seutloali, has signaled her intention to contest the party’s leadership post.
The 36-year-old Ms Seutloali, who served as youth league president from March 2015 to October 2018, said she was “tying some loose ends” before submitting her letter of interest to contest the elections at the party’s June 2021 elective conference.
According to the party’s national executive committee (NEC), the incumbent Thesele ‘Maseribane’s tenure ends on 12 June 2021 and the elective conference to choose his successor will be held at Mazenod Centre from 11 to 13 June 2021.
The United Nations
A 77-year old nun from the southern African country of Lesotho has been telling the UN how she survived a deadly outbreak of COVID-19 in her convent and why it’s important to embrace the vaccine.
For Sister Juliet Lithemba, the past year has been “nothing short of grace and mercy from above”, as she explains it. The 77-year-old resident of Mt Royal Convent of the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa, located in Lesotho’s Leribe district, didn’t know much about COVID-19 until her convent home and fellow sisters were infected by the deadly virus.
She has dedicated her life to religious service since 1964, when she was just 20-years-old. For 47 years of her dedication, she has never seen such havoc brought about by a disease as during the COVID-19 pandemic.

MG Health is the first manufacturer in Africa to be licensed to supply cannabis to the European Union for medicinal use.
The company is located 2,000 meters above sea level in the Maluti mountains of Lesotho, north of the capital Maseru.
Luke van der Nest, the business development manager for MG Health, says the clean air and pristine environment ensure the growth of high-quality plants to produce pharmaceutical-grade cannabis extracts and products.
Fewer than 20 countries in the world have managed to win European Union permission to export cannabis flowers for medicinal use.
