The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday.
Winter Reading Program
The Winter Reading Program continues through March 31 for those ages 16 and older. Sign up at either library branch (or call if necessary) and get a punch card. Read 12 books, audio books or e-books and return the punch card for a prize. All participants are entered into the grand prize drawing on April 1. To learn more, visit nclibrary.org.

Students, teachers, parents and administrators face ever-rising challenges as the coronavirus pandemic continues to force changes in how young people receive their education.
The challenges are particularly pronounced in the African American community, where access to the Internet, working parents, and a haphazard learning model have undermined pre- pandemic gains. Education experts have agreed that when students of color in underserved schools must go to blended or fully remote learning models, the digital divide gets broader, more profoundly affecting them.
