A remarkable showing in a COVID-19 season for a small Catholic college that’s a stone’s throw from Syracuse University in central New York. The reward for the Dolphins’ excellent 13-1 season? Not being selected by the NCAA selection committee moments after the unbeaten Le Moyne men were placed as the top seed in the national tournament.

FIRST LOOK: KING DAVID’S OPENS A NEW SPOT: Few restaurants on Marshall Street have enjoyed the success that King David’s has had over the years. It was THE place on the Syracuse University Hill to get authentic gyros, shish kabobs, falafels and fresh hummus. While that spot closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and has yet to reopen, a location in Fayetteville is open and now, a new King David’s opened a few weeks ago in Fairmount, although it hasn’t had its official grand opening. SummerJazz Workshop returns to New York State Fairgrounds

Syracuse NY – Young musicians with a passion for learning to play by ear will get a chance to perform live at the finale concerts of the 2021 SummerJazz Workshop, the flagship CNY Jazz educational program now in its 20th anniversary year. The program takes place Monday through Friday, June 28th through July 2nd.
After 18 years in residence at the New York State Fairgrounds, the pandemic forced the workshop to go online last June. This time around, the weeklong affair will utilize a hybrid model of online learning and live rehearsal and performance. Participants will receive online group and individual instruction plus clinics and masterclasses Monday through Thursday, then inhabit the Art & Home Center spaces for an exciting final day of dress rehearsals and concerts.
