The police officer that fired the fatal shots that killed Michael Taylor at a 2016 family violence call has described a look of “rage” on Taylor’s face when they arrived. The officer, who spoke from behind a screen and is named only as ‘Officer D’ to protect his identity, said that when they arrived in response to a 111 call from his partner Natalie Avery, they found Taylor in a paddock on the property. He was holding a machete in one hand and a sickle in the other.
