Representative image JALANDHAR: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) got major relief on Wednesday evening with the Delhi high court allowing the party to use its old reserved symbol ‘bucket’ for this election, scheduled to be held on April 25. A notification, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 2021, was issued by the director of gurdwara elections and the notification also provided a list of recognized religious parties along with the symbols allotted to them and SAD (Badal) did not figure in the list even as names of six other parties were there. 4 arrested by CGST Ludhiana for bogus billing | Ludhiana News

LUDHIANA: In multiple actions, Centre GST (CGST) Commissionerate Ludhiana in its drive against anti evasion, has arrested four persons under three different cases on March 31st. All the arrests are related with executing bogus billing and availing fraudulent input tax credit (ITC) and out of the four , one has been remanded to judicial custody till April 15th while other three have been released on bail by the department. Giving more information, Ashutosh Baranwal, principal commissioner, CGST Ludhiana said, We have placed 4 persons under arrest, who are accused in 3 different cases. One Vishal Kumar Singla S/o Late Lakhpat Rai has been arrested on March 31st in the Happy Nagpal case where 32 bogus firms operated by Nagpal made dubious outward supplies totalling to Rs 427 crores approximately & availed fake ITC of Rs 65 crore approx. Singla along with the main accused Nagpal, was involved in issuance of fake invoices amounting to Rs 38.67 crores approximately and fraudulent pass

Representative image. LUDHIANA: In a miracle of sorts, a toddler fell from the emergency window of a moving train and was later found alive near Samrala railway station on Thursday. Railway officials said that Vishali Sharma along with her three children was going to Mumbai from Phagwara in Paschim express. They added that during the journey, Vishali went to washroom leaving her one and half years old daughter Mahira with her other two small children. The officials further said that after she returned from washroom, her five-year-old daughter told her that Mahira had fallen out of the window. They added that as soon as Vishali came to know about it, she raised an alarm and with the help of other passengers, the train was stopped after several kilometers ahead.

Patiala: 31 students of Thapar institute test +ve | Ludhiana News

Representative image PATIALA: Thirty-one students of Thapar institute, Patiala, tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. With 69 positive cases reported from the institute so far, testing has been ramped up there. Samples of around 1,014 students have been collected over the past four days. “With several parents insisting on taking their children back home, the health authorities conducted rapid test of around 270 students. Of them, 17 tested positive. The remaining had to give a written assurance that they would quarantine themselves on reaching home. These students will also have to inform their local health authorities. We too have informed them. Besides, two employees of Punjabi university have also tested positive,” said epidemiologist Dr Sumeet Singh.
