Bay County and Panama City Florida offer host of summer camp options

Summertime is on its way, and the options of kids seeking daycamps are heating up. Kids can dive into fine art, learn to fly a plane, create delicious dishes, study acting and stagecraft, or explore science and technology. Here are some of the summer camps we ve learned about: Art camps are the draw at Center for the Arts  PANAMA CITY Summer Art Camp will be June 7-11 for children ages 7-12, with each day filled with several art projects, break time, snack, recess, games and more art. Every week will feature different lessons and activities, so even if you sign up for every week, you ll be doing different things.

Back Porch BBQ operates the waterways in a Sun Tracker 32-foot pontoon houseboat turned food boat, where the sleeper has been replaced with a counter and red cabinets accented with a red Hamilton Beach microwave. 

Tyndall Air Force Base gives 100 Panama City elementary students gifts

PANAMA CITY The Tyndall Air Force Base Civil Engineering Center brought Christmas cheer to 100 students at Lucille Moore Elementary School with presents and meals from Mercy Chefs on Dec. 17. Lucille Moore officials selected 100 students who they felt could use some extra Christmas spirit, and Tyndall helped out with the gifts. Mercy Chefs did its part by providing meals to the families who might be less fortunate. Cars started to line up in front of the school about 5 p.m. so students could pick up their Christmas gifts. They were greeted by Santa Claus, who spread Christmas cheer to the children as their parents drove in.
