Fantasy Focus: Leal Deal

Fantasy Focus: Leal Deal Share this story Photo by Brett Carlsen/Getty Images Before I get into the week in MLS Fantasy, I want to make a quick note about the head-to-head league. When I set the league up, I arbitrarily set the team number at 100, thinking it was the upward limit. What I didn’t realize until Saturday is that the league, with 76 teams at the time, did not start because it didn’t meet the set team number. So I set the team number to 76 and then set it to start in round 2, so everyone basically gets a round 1 bye. All of the other settings, including the playoffs, will happen as planned. I’m sorry for the error. We’ll get going at the weekend.

Fire Draw With Revs In Opener That Burned Out Fast

Fire Draw With Revs In Opener That Burned Out Fast The Fire’s attack dazzled by building a 2-0 lead in less than 1 1 minutes before that lead evaporated just as quickly to see them draw 2-2 with New England at Soldier Field Share this story Chicago Fire FC It’s a cliché to say a given soccer match is ‘a game of two halves.’ Saturday night’s season opener at Soldier Field between Chicago Fire FC and the New England Revolution was more ‘a game of the first two sixths’ as the opening 30 minutes contained all four goals and showcased Chicago’s strengths and weaknesses.

Opoku bags assist for Los Angeles FC, Mokotjo, Kaptoum feature in MLS action

Corey Baird then opened the scoring in the 61st minute for Los Angeles FC with a fine strike after he was set up by Danny Musovsk. Moments before the end of the game, Opoku then set up Jose Cifuentes to seal the victory for Bob Bradley’s men at Banc of California Stadium and ensured they started the MLS season on a winning note. Meanwhile, South Africa international Kamohelo Mokotjo featured prominently as FC Cincinnati played out a 2-2 draw with Nashville SC. Mokotjo started the encounter and made a key contribution for the Orange and Blue to ensure they avoided defeat at Nissan Stadium.
