Bonnie Osler May 13, 2021 It has been an honor to serve the people of Lewes for nine years as a member of your city council.  Lewes is a terrific town with wonderful, innovative, and caring citizens.  Please participate in your government by attending meetings (virtually or, soon, in person at the city’s meeting room at the Rollins Center) and continue to give useful feedback to members of council and city boards, commissions, and committees.  Government doesn’t work without citizen input! I am gratified by the responsible, progressive decisions that council has made for our town over the past nine years.  Lewes is in very good financial shape and has a professional and dedicated staff.  Further, the city has made solid progress on any number of fronts, from its beautiful parks to its sparkling commercial district.  Even the important issues facing Lewes - parking woes, inevitable climate change, preserving our history, to name just a few - are under productive

May 7, 2021 Rehoboth Beach commissioners have scheduled a virtual workshop for 9 a.m., Monday, May 10.  The agenda calls for discussions on the possibility of hiring a city planner, what the city can do to reduce light pollution from city-owned lights, wireless antenna installation and filling committee vacancies. March 9, 2021 Dewey commissioners meet March 12 Dewey Beach commissioners will meet virtually at 2 p.m., Friday, March 12. Members will possibly vote to approve an ordinance to adopt the definition of “persons,” to change police staffing levels and to approve the 2022 fiscal year budget. Commissioners may also vote to approve members on the board of adjustment, planning and zoning commission, and marketing committee. February 2, 2021 Giles named new beach patrol captain Rehoboth Beach announced Jan. 28 that Jeffrey Giles, a 30-year veteran of the Delaware State Police, has been named as the new beach patrol captain. Giles, a Delaware native, held several DSP leadership positions, including supervising the maritime and scuba units. He also served on the safety committee for the annual Special Olympics Delaware Lewes Polar Bear Plunge that takes place in Rehoboth Beach. Rehoboth Beach Police Chief Keith Banks said Giles served five summers as a member of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol, including as a lieutenant, before he was with the state police.
