FORT WAYNE – While fans attending Saturday’s High-A Central contest at Parkview Field were treated to postgame fireworks, the Fort Wayne TinCaps provided some early explosions of their own, riding a two-run home run in each of the first two innings before holding on for a 5-4 victory over the Lake County Captains.
“The way we’ve been playing, I think it’s huge,” TinCaps manager Anthony Contreras said. “We want to score early, it gives us a bit of a cushion. It’s extremely important to gain a little confidence.”

I ve got some homerun-hitting news concerning Amazon s
A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN TV series, but if you want to stay here plucking cows, that s your business.
Parks and Recreation standout and woodworker to the stars, Nick Offerman, is joining the cast of Amazon s live-action series from Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham. Offerman will step up to the plate as Casey Dove Porter, the coach of the team at the center of the show.
According to
THR, Dove is described as a former Cubs pitcher who is brought in to coach the Rockford Peaches. The character is most famous because his forkball killed a dove in mid-air in the middle of a game. Inspiring and charismatic, Dove was thought to be the next big Major League Baseball star but blew his arm out after three years. Now he’s looking to make his comeback by transforming the Peaches into champions.
