On this day: career-defining title charge begins at Winton Repco Supercars Championship By James Pavey
The next venue of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship has been a happy hunting ground for Mark Winterbottom.
No active driver has more wins at Winton Motor Raceway than Winterbottom, whose four victories are matched by Jamie Whincup.
Whincup and Red Bull Ampol Racing don’t have an affinity with the rural Victorian circuit; he hasn’t won there since 2012, and the team since 2017 through Shane van Gisbergen.

Winterbottom scored poles at Winton in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012, but had to wait until 2013 to win his first race at the circuit.
Wildcard Kostecki keen to lean on established WAU Repco Supercars Championship By James Pavey
Being able to lean on two champion drivers and a champion team has Kurt Kostecki ready to maximise his three wildcard appearances for Walkinshaw Andretti United.
Kostecki will line up in a third WAU entry at this weekend’s OTR SuperSprint as part of a three-event wildcard campaign.
The 2019 Super2 runner-up will join 2020 Super2 champion Thomas Randle in an expanded 26-car grid for the Tailem Bend, Darwin and Perth events.
This weekend marks Kostecki’s first main game start since last October’s Bathurst 1000.
Kostecki, whose brother Jake and cousin Brodie will also be on the grid, made his full-time main game debut aboard a Kostecki Brothers Racing entry at the 2018 Tailem Bend and Ipswich events.
Michael Caruso breaks through for first TCR Australia race win in shortened final outing
2 days ago
Garry Rogers Motorsport is celebrating a win after a tough final race at Sydney Motorsport Park as Michael Caruso broke through for his first victory in the TCR Australia series, getting the lead early on and staying there in a safety car interrupted race.
Though the win was sweet for Caruso there’s no doubt some of the prize money will go towards a repair bill for the GRM squad as two of their Peugeot 308 TCR entries suffered damage early on in the race, being the cause of two extended safety car periods which saw only two full racing laps take place.
Buchan wins second race in as many days with controlling drive at SMP
1 month ago
HMO Customer Racing has taken two wins on the trot in the TCR Australia series after their rookie Josh Buchan took his second race victory in a row, converting pole to the race victory at Sydney Motorsport Park.
A day after taking his first win in the series, the Hyundai i30 N TCR driver was able to set the pace at the front of the field all race long, going unchallenged throughout the 15 lap outing to take home a bag of points.
Buchan converted pole position to a holeshot heading into the first corner as James Moffat bogged down off the line, losing a handful of spots from the front row while Chaz Mostert squeezed his way through to second in the Melbourne Performance Centre Audi RS3, leading Tony D’Alberto’s Wall Racing Honda Civic Type R.
