Sea warning issued for Tropical Storm Lupit

Taipei, Aug. 4 (CNA) The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) issued a sea warning for Tropical Storm Lupit Wednesday, indicating unstable weather that could impact ships operating in the Taiwan Strait and around Pratas Island.
As of 2 p.m., the tropical storm was located about 700 km west-southwest of Taipei and was moving in a northeasterly direction at 13 km per hour.
The storm was carrying maximum sustained winds of 65 kph, with gusts of up to 90 kph, according to the CWB.
There have already been surging waves around the Hengchun Peninsula, the southernmost point in Taiwan, the CWB said, adding that similar developments are possible in eastern and southwestern parts of Taiwan, as well as the outlying islands of Kinmen and Matsu.

Compared to somewhere like London, where I would be exhausted by the urban chaos after a 30 minute walk Taipei is exciting and interesting, but scattered with history and peaceful places, said the 46-year-old from Wales.
