Milton Councilman Michael Coté passed away April 3, reportedly after suffering a stroke.
Coté, 72, was in his third term as a councilman, having first been elected in 2013. He purchased a home in Milton in 2008, moving to town full time in 2011. He began attending Milton Town Council meetings and grew concerned about accounting-related issues.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all who voted in the Town of Milton’s 2021 municipal election March 6. I wish to extend my congratulations and thanks to Lee Revis-Plank, Allen Sangree and Emory West for their excellent campaigns. I would be remiss if I did not thank my neighbor, Maryann Stewart, for her encouragement and for securing my campaign sign locations, and my 13-year-old grandson Tyler Conran, for tirelessly putting stamps on materials mailed to the voters of Milton. Lastly, I want to thank those who cast a vote for me. I appreciate your support and shall endeavor to make sure you will not regret your action, as I strive to show “the noblest motive is the public good.”

Milton Planning and Zoning Commission, at its Tuesday, March 16 meeting, will present a written formal decision for approval of a special permitted use to allow Verizon to erect a 140-foot-tall cellphone tower at the town’s public works yard on Front Street.
The commission gave, by a 5-2 vote, preliminary approval to the tower Feb. 16 but held off on final approval until a written decision clarifying the opinion could be issued. Verizon, doing business as Cellco Partnership, required a special permitted use because the land the tower would be located on is zoned R-1 residential.
