The Independent MASSILLON – Former Fire Chief Tom Burgasser is making a comeback for the city, but he ll be leading a different agency. Burgasser, 58, has been tapped to be the city s next Street Department supervisor, taking over for the soon retiring Lee McBride. I was happy cutting grass and all that but this sort of came up, said Burgasser, who retired April 9 as the Massillon Fire Department chief. I told the mayor I could help. The former chief is slated to start July 19 at the road department. He ll work with McBride for about two weeks before officially taking over on or about Aug. 1.
